Maycast-Nokes manufactures precision investment castings in an extensive range of metals to cover most applications. Our skills, experience and investment in the latest technology and methodology allows us to successfully deliver even the most demanding and challenging projects on time and in budget.
A major advantage of gravity die casting is its repeatability and cost effectiveness. Maycast-Nokes can supply fully-machined and finished castings, while its team of skilled and knowledgeable engineers work closely with clients to advise on casting designs.
We have ten 4/5-axis CNC milling machines, three CNC lathes in addition to a range of conventional machines. Our fully skilled engineers who program, set and operate the machines work on a 3 shift system, 24 hours per day, 5 days a week which means we are able to offer a highly flexible approach on both small and large volume batch work. Our machine shop is specifically set up for machining the castings we produce so all the machines benefit from having probing facilities.
Maycast-Nokes offers two non-destructive testing (NDT) procedures; Radiographic Inspection and Liquid Penetrant Inspection. These inspection methods support quality assurance by identifying internal and surface defects without damaging the component. NDT helps verify casting integrity, improve consistency and ensure compliance for critical engineering applications.
Penetrant inspection is a non-destructive testing method used to detect surface-breaking defects such as cracks or porosity. By applying penetrant dye and developer, indications become visible for inspection, helping verify casting integrity for critical applications.
Maycast-Nokes’ Nadcap approved heat treatment department is equipped to perform a range of processes on a wide range of aluminium alloy castings. Heat treatment is completed under controlled conditions to help achieve consistent mechanical properties, supporting quality requirements for demanding and regulated applications.
Maycast-Nokes is able to offer a first class finishing and assembly service, supplying castings as fully finished components where required. This helps reduce internal workload, simplifies supply chains and ensures parts are delivered ready for installation or onward processing.
The design and manufacture of the investment/lost wax die is one of the most important stages in the production of quality investment castings.
We offer a flexible 3D printing service for both investment and precision sand castings. This allows us to support rapid development, reduce lead times and validate designs before committing to tooling. 3D printing can be used to produce patterns, prototypes and development components, helping customers progress from concept through to production with greater confidence.
We combine tried and tested casting techniques with the latest technology to recreate legacy components. This enables us to support customers where drawings, CAD files or original tooling are unavailable. By working from existing parts and requirements, we help produce accurate replacements and support ongoing serviceability.
The design and manufacture of investment tooling and fixtures is a key stage in producing quality investment castings. Well-designed tooling supports accuracy and repeatability, improving wax pattern consistency and helping ensure castings meet specification throughout production.
