1 Tensile

Tensile Testing is carried out to the requirements of BS A4 Part 1, BS EN 10002 and ASTM E8 using an 'Zwick Roell Z100 tensile testing machine of 100kN capacity. The Test Bars may be cast-to-size, turned or milled to size, or excised from castings.

2 Bend Tests

These comply to BS 1639, BS3146 and BS HC100. Where required by the appropriate specification, the Bend Test is preceded by exposure to a corrosive environment (Intercrystalline Corrosion Test).

3 Chemical Analysis

Chemical Analysis of Aluminium and Iron based alloys is carried out using a Spectrolab Spark Emission Spectrometer.

4 Fracture Tests

Where required by the customer, Fracture Testing of sample castings can be carried out to check for uniformity of grain structure.

5 Microsection

Grinding, polishing and etching equipment is available for the preparation of samples for microscopy. A bench microscope is used for examining the prepared samples
