| The fine precision
sand casting facility comprises of three casting sections, each of
these have their particular attributes, the result of which is a highly
flexible and adaptable facility. |
| The boxless/block
casting section is used for the production of sand castings from 1kg
up to approximately 30kg. Using either wood or resin pattern equipment,
this method gives excellent repeatability whilst achieving extremely
tight tolerances, which can result in the reduced need for costly
machining operations. |
| The floor casting
activities are carried out by highly experienced, fully skilled craftsmen
and can be used to either make sand castings from inexpensive loose
pattern equipment, ideal for prototypes, or conversely very large
parts which are too big for the block casting section. |
| Casting machines
are used for production quantities of smaller sand castings (from
0.1kg up to 10kg) where often multi-impression pattern equipment can
be used. This means that this technique can be highly cost effective
whilst giving an excellent surface finish. |
